How has the Rambox Ranking changed in the last month?

For the first time in months, the Rambox ranking didn’t register a single change. The same 15 apps from April held their ground in May, showing a rare moment of complete stability in our top lineup.

But while the positions stayed the same, user behavior tells a different story. WhatsApp, still #1, grew by 4%, reinforcing its dominance. Gmail and Telegram, ranked second and third respectively, saw opposite trends—Gmail dropped by 4% while Telegram gained 3%

Google Calendar held onto fourth place but experienced a significant 24% decrease in users, a drop that could put its position at risk in the near future. WhatsApp Business, on the other hand, continued gaining ground with a 7% increase in usage.

Google Sheets and Google Docs, in sixth and seventh place, showed stable performance. Instagram, ranked eighth, stood out with a 9% growth. Messenger saw a 6% decline, while Facebook maintained steady numbers. Collaboration tools like Microsoft Teams and Discord also gained momentum, with a 3% and 7% increase respectively. Slack usage remained unchanged.

Finally, ChatGPT—currently in fourteenth place—recorded the most significant drop of the month, with 25% fewer users compared to April. Outlook closed the list at #15 with stable usage, keeping its spot after entering the ranking last month.

In short, the lineup may not have changed, but user dynamics suggest the stage is being set for possible shifts ahead.

5 apps that could enter the top 15 in the coming months

While the top 15 stayed the same this month, a few rising stars are getting closer to breaking into the list. Just below the cutoff, several apps are gaining momentum among Rambox users and could soon shake up the ranking.

Here are five apps to keep an eye on—they’re on the rise and might be part of the top in the coming months.

1. Instant messaging: Google Messages

Google Messages is becoming more popular among professionals who use SMS and RCS to stay connected during the workday. Whether it’s sending appointment reminders, receiving login codes, or following up with clients, managing messages directly from your desktop helps save time and stay focused. With support for both SMS/MMS and the RCS chat protocol, it offers a more complete and flexible messaging experience. Plus, it syncs smoothly with Android devices, so switching between phone and computer is quick and seamless.

It also comes with useful features like media sharing, message reactions, and read receipts—perfect for staying in the loop without getting distracted.

2. Collaboration: Google Drive

With the rise of remote work, Google Drive is gaining momentum as a go-to solution for managing and sharing files across teams. From documents and spreadsheets to presentations and PDFs, having everything stored in one place—and accessible from anywhere—makes daily workflows much more efficient. For teams working from different locations or time zones, the ability to upload, edit, and comment in real time keeps collaboration smooth and stress-free.

Its tight integration with tools like Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides adds even more value, letting users stay within the same ecosystem without constantly switching apps.

3. Project management: Notion

Notion is gaining more attention from users who want more than just a task manager. It’s a flexible all-in-one workspace where you can create project boards, write documents, take notes, and build custom dashboards that fit the way you work. Whether you’re planning a product launch, tracking deadlines, or building a content calendar, Notion adapts to your workflow instead of forcing you to adapt to the tool.

Its powerful mix of features—like databases, collaborative editing, and smart templates—makes it a great choice for staying organized and keeping everything in one place. It’s ideal for teams that want to collaborate on design projects without needing advanced design skills.

5. Artificial Inteligence: Gemini

AI is gaining popularity fast in the workplace, and while ChatGPT continues to lead the category, Gemini is starting to make its way into more and more digital workflows—especially among Google Workspace users. It’s already outpacing Microsoft’s Copilot in Rambox usage, showing that professionals are looking for AI tools that integrate naturally with the tools they already use every day.

Gemini offers support for tasks like drafting emails, summarizing content, generating ideas, and answering questions—all within a clean, easy-to-use interface. Its smooth connection to Google services makes it a strong choice for anyone working in Docs, Gmail, or Drive.
