September brought one clear change to the top of the Rambox Ranking, while most of the rest of the table stayed in place.
Claude AI moved into the top five, overtaking WhatsApp after growing by around 4% from August. Further down the ranking, a few apps posted small gains without changing position, while Google Translate moved into the top 15 as Google Docs slipped just below it.

September 2026: Most-used apps on Rambox
Here’s how the most-used apps on Rambox ranked in September 2026, based on aggregated usage data from the month.

You can also explore the full Rambox Ranking and previous months.
The first four positions remain unchanged, with ChatGPT leading the ranking, followed by Google Calendar, Gemini and Google Drive.
The main change comes just below them, as Claude AI moved from sixth to fifth place and pushed WhatsApp down to sixth.
The rest of the ranking stays largely stable, with only small shifts at the bottom of the top 15.
How did the Rambox Ranking change in September?
The biggest movement this month comes from Claude AI.
Its usage increased by around 4.1% compared with August, enough to move it from sixth to fifth place. WhatsApp moved in the opposite direction, declining by approximately 5.2% and dropping to sixth.
That makes Claude AI’s move more than a simple positional change: it grew during the month while WhatsApp declined.
Elsewhere, the changes were much smaller. Gemini increased by around 1.4% and kept third place, Telegram grew by roughly 2.2% and remained thirteenth, while Trello edged up by around 0.5% without moving from tenth.
At the bottom of the ranking, Google Translate moved into fifteenth place while Google Docs dropped to sixteenth. This was mainly a positional change: Google Translate stayed almost flat, while Google Docs declined enough for the two apps to switch places.
Overall, September’s ranking is defined more by continuity than by broad reshuffling. Most of the Top 15 stayed exactly where they were in August, with Claude AI’s move into the top five standing out as the clearest change of the month.
